Biographies

Ms. Pan Sloane leads the ESG and impact reporting efforts for the Avenue Sustainable Solutions Strategy.  Prior to joining Avenue, she worked at the United Nations (UN), where she was a leader on impact investing and innovative finance aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.  While at the UN, she was Head of Partnerships, Policy and Communications at the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF). As a member of UNCDF’s senior management team, she provided strategic guidance and leadership to the agency and mentored junior staff worldwide. She led a global team that helped boost UNCDF’s annual grant income, while also building relationships with the finance industry, family offices, and the impact investment community. Before joining UNCDF, Ms. Sloane served as a U.S. diplomat in China, the United Kingdom, the State Department Operations Center, and the U.S. Mission to the United Nations, where she provided oversight of U.S. aid funding directed through the multilateral development system and served on the U.S. team that negotiated the UN SDGs.

As a diplomat, Ms. Pan Sloane received individual and group Superior Honor Awards for her work on the SDGs; a group Superior Honor Award with other members of the Operations Center for their response to the attacks of September 11, 2012; and an individual Meritorious Honor Award for sustained excellence in UN negotiations.

Ms. Pan Sloane is a graduate of Stanford University with honors in both English and International Relations and earned an MA in Theatre and Performance from the University of Cape Town in South Africa, where she studied theater that protested apartheid on a Fulbright Fellowship.
