Summary:
|
Municipal lighting facilities are a vital component of urban infrastructure. Operating across vast urban and suburban areas, municipal lighting systems typically run from dusk to dawn, resulting in substantial electricity consumption and significant operational costs for local governments. In many cities, this also contributes to greenhouse gas emissions, particularly where outdated or inefficient lighting technologies remain in use. This draft Recommendation defines an energy optimization system for municipal lighting facilities. This system can enable real-time energy monitoring, adaptive lighting control. These capabilities are critical for improving energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and supporting the sustainable development of cities. This recommendation specifies the requirements and functional architecture of the IoT-based energy optimization system in municipal lighting facilities.
