Summary:
|
Due to climate change and growing population, problems of food shortage are expected globally. Aquaculture, also known as fish farming, adjusts water environments using IoT, AI, and robot technologies to provide better conditions for fish growing. Examples of water environmental parameters which may affect fish growing include dissolved oxygen (DO), air- and water-temperature, pH, carbon dioxide (CO2), electrical conductivity (EC), suspended solid (SS), turbidity, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), total ammonia nitrogen, and water levels.
A number of diverse IoT devices (including sensors, actuators, and robots) are involved in smart aquaculture in order to provide different services such as water monitoring and management, and autonomous fish farm management. Therefore, it is necessary to survey present smart agriculture technologies as well as future-promising technologies. Based on the survey results, meaningful standardization work items can be identified.
This new work item surveys use cases related to smart aquaculture.in the perspective of fish farming using IoT, AI, and robot technologies.
