Summary: With the deployment of IMT-2020 networks, services and applications related to application domains are increasingly needed to be supported, e.g., Smart City, Industry, Education, Transport, Healthcare, Agriculture, Finance, Media, etc.. The distributed core network [ITU-T Y.IMT2020-DCN] has been proposed as a core network solution, which uses a dedicated network architecture based on customized IMT-2020 network functions. How to efficiently process and manage this AI-related data brings new challenges to operators. The data in the context of IMT-2020 and beyond is often located in different terminals, network equipment, only with a local vision. The sensing measurement data is usually collected from multiple UEs or base stations and aggregated for processing to a node to obtain sensing results. The distributed data plane is proposed to support distributed data storage, collaborative processing and management in the context of IMT-2020 and beyond. The network functions of data plane can collect multiple types of data from network functions and UEs, store these large amounts of heterogeneous data in a distributed way and process the data efficiently and collaboratively. Through the use of heterogeneous data for network optimization decisions, distributed data collaboration can achieve intelligent network operation, enabling enhanced data services and intelligent services. Therefore, this draft new Recommendation will investigate and specify protocol and message format of various data transportation, storage and processing, like AI data, sensing data, network data and user data. It also will specify message format of data transport procedure among data orchestration function, data agent function and data storage management function.
