This Recommendation is based on the framework and guidelines on the migration of network technologies from its existing or traditional technologies to the new and upcoming technologies such as fifth generation (5G), sixth generation (6G) networks and beyond. It details the procedure and focuses on the end to end applications that exist between the functioning of the mobiles network and respective quality metrics and testing methodologies that need to be defined before and during migration.
Mobile technology since its inception has developed over the years because consumer's expectations from data solution providers keep escalating on daily basis. Studies show that tens of thousands of devices get connected to the internet daily due the emergence of data hungry applications such as online gaming, video streaming, virtual reality etc. It is estimated that billions of devices and people will need connectivity to the internet as the diagram below depicts growth of internet connectivity with technological advancement as compared with the world population.
