Considerando las nuevas realidades del mercado caracterizadas por factores tales como: competencia abierta entre operadores debido a la desregulación de los mercados, explosión del tráfico digital (por ejemplo, debido a la utilización creciente de la "Internet"), demanda creciente de nuevos servicios multimedia, demanda creciente de movilidad general, convergencia de redes y servicios, etc., la NGN (red de próxima generación) se concibe como una implementación concreta de la GII (infraestructura mundial de la información). Las Recomendaciones de la serie Y proporcionan los fundamentos de las redes de próxima generación. Sin embargo, los aspectos relativos a su implementación no se trataron adecuadamente en la GII. En consecuencia, la NGN hay que entenderla como el siguiente paso en la realización del concepto de GII.El objetivo de la NGN es asegurar que todos los elementos necesarios para la interoperabilidad y las capacidades de red soporten aplicaciones mundialmente a través de la NGN, pero manteniendo el concepto de separación entre transporte, servicios y aplicaciones.El objetivo de esta Recomendación es que se utilice como información básica para contribuir al desarrollo de Recomendaciones, normas y directrices de implementación relativas a las redes de próxima generación. |
