At ITC, we value ITU’s 160-year legacy that has shaped the digital foundations small businesses now rely on to connect, compete and grow.

ITU strives to enhance digital ​access and global connectivity – foundations essential for WIPO ​to support the world’s innovators ​in moving their ideas to market ​and ensuring that IP works for everyone, everywhere.

The ITU is playing a very important, ​ and key role in the implementation of ​ the Global Digital Compact, which is ​ part of the Pact for the Future. It aims ​ to bridge the technological divide, which – if it deepens – could lead to new inequalities.

ITU has been a bridge builder in the field of telecommunications and I wish it will continue to be an information sharing power house to spread good knowledge (best practices) and build/connect communications among nations, and communities! I trust ITU inherits such values!

Dear ITU,
Six years ago, I was a young engineer who had just started working for the ICT regulator of my country. My first task was to do research on the ITU. After that, many Council meetings, conferences... Since then, I have been learning about ITU, learning with ITU.

Wish to extend Birthday greetings to the ITU on this significant milestone and reflect on how important the work that they do affect our lifes on a daily basis. This was so evident when our country was hit by Hurricane Beryl on July 1 , 2024 and we were unable to communicate with each other.

The world is a more unified, peaceful and collaborative space because of the tremendous work of the ITU throughout these 160 years and counting. Let us continue to promote peace, unity and technological inclusion globally.
