Business Support Organisations (BSOs), in particular national Trade Promotion Organisations (TPOs), play a key role in building SME competitiveness and trade development. Nowadays, the support they provide is increasingly digitalised and enhanced by Artificial Intelligence (AI). 
In this context, the ITC booth will present the ITC Roadmap for TPO Excellence designed by dozens of TPO leaders in Johannesburg in July 2025 during the SME Ministerial. The Roadmap aims to create greater alignment between SME ministers and TPOs to improve their impact, efficiency, and resiliency.
The roadmap provides a measurable framework for BSO digitalisation broken down into concrete actions to deliver equitable, sustainable green and digital transitions and opportunities for trade ecosystem development, in alignment with the WSIS Action Line C7: E-business. It further explores the necessity for investments into artificial intelligence for TPO capacity building and to enhance their strategic foresight. 
Beyond the Roadmap, the booth will present ITC research on the topic of how digitalisation boosted by AI can facilitate access to financing, cost reduction for SMEs, and contribute to resilient business models for BSOs.
