Jamii Stack: From Connected Tanzania to a Digitally Integrated Africa
The United Republic of Tanzania will showcase Jamii Stack, a national Digital
Public Infrastructure (DPI) framework designed to accelerate inclusive digital
transformation and create a trusted foundation for the digital economy. Inspired by the
Swahili word Jamii (community), the initiative demonstrates how digital identity,
trusted data exchange, digital payments, innovation, and citizen-centric services can
be integrated into a seamless ecosystem that empowers people, businesses, and
institutions.
Through demonstrations and visual storytelling, visitors will experience key
components of the ecosystem, including JamiiPass, Tanzania’s national e-KYC
platform powered by the National Physical Addressing System (NaPA); Jamii X
Change, a secure consent-driven interoperability platform; JamiiPay for
interoperable digital transactions; JamiiApp for integrated public services; and
JamiiHunt, a platform nurturing innovators and startups.
Aligned with the WSIS vision, the exhibition highlights Tanzania’s journey from
national innovation to regional collaboration. An African-designed model for building
secure, interoperable, and people-centred digital societies.
