UN-WSIS Regional Commissions
ITU
Session 453
The UN-WSIS Regional Commissions Meeting is held annually during the WSIS Forum, bringing together the five United Nations Regional Commissions—the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE), the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). It provides a platform to exchange regional updates and perspectives on WSIS implementation and digital development priorities. The regional dimension is a key pillar of the WSIS process, ensuring that diverse local contexts are reflected and that progress is driven through coordinated, regionally grounded action.
