The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has played a central role in supporting and implementing the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) outcomes, in close collaboration with UN partners and stakeholders, contributing to the advancement of the WSIS Action Lines and their alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This session on “ITU Contribution to the WSIS Implementation of the WSIS Outcomes” is organised by the Chair and Vice-Chairs of the ITU Council Working Group on WSIS&SDG. It is convened as a follow-up to the request made at the 44th meeting of the Working Group, held on 15–16 January 2026.

The session will provide an opportunity to present ITU’s ongoing implementation efforts, share key achievements and initiatives, and exchange views on strengthening the impact and coherence of WSIS implementation going forward.
