La régulation du numérique et de l’IA dans l’espace francophone comme inspiration et bonne pratique internationale
Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie
Session 317
International digital and AI governance is now at a crossroads. The institutional calendar makes 2025 a crucial year, that of the implementation of the recommendations of the Global Digital Compact (GDC) and the ongoing reconfiguration of the global architecture of digital and AI governance. In this fast-changing context, La Francophonie and its member countries are convinced that they have a role to play in guiding international discussions and promoting priorities that will enable digital and AI technologies to truly accelerate economic and social development for the greatest number.
The challenges facing French-speaking countries can be broken down into three main priorities: making governance a vehicle for individual and collective digital inclusion; promoting the cultural and linguistic diversity of content, an essential battle in a context where this content is shaping the AI of today and tomorrow; and regulating data to ensure its interoperability, security and sovereignty.
The experts present, representing different levels of digital and AI governance, will discuss possible avenues of intervention, highlighting best practices and regulatory framework initiatives taken by French-speaking countries in recent years. Finally, the session will highlight the convergences between Francophone priorities and the needs of the international digital environment, and the alignment between the Francophonie's suggestions and the main recommendations of the GDC.
