Session 490
ReModelUN Trialogue (previously Geneva Trialogue) is a one-day event held in Geneva with and for the Model United Nations (MUN), an international network of over 1M high school and university students who organize UN-style negotiations every year. This is a youth community that is passionate about achieving peace through multilateral dialogue and progress through international cooperation.
As in last year's successful edition, the focus is on leveraging responsible artificial intelligence to improve the experience and outcomes of MUN conferences and to assist UN partner agencies seeking youth feedback, with the ambitious goal of enabling youth to inspire UN negotiations.
ReModelUN Trialogue is not an MUN conference, it is a place for three stakeholders to discuss and develop the future of MUN: youth who are active in MUNs; representatives of International Organisations and their Member States; AI experts from Academia and the Private Sector. Hence the concept of a Trialogue.
This year's ReModelUN Trialogue will be an invitation-only event (limited to 50 participants) as part of ITU’s WSIS+20 High-Level Event Youth Special Track, bringing together youth leaders from around the world to explore how Artificial Intelligence can enhance the learning experience of young people involved in Model United Nations (MUN) conferences.
The academic partners include the University of Geneva SDG Solution Space and the Paris-based Learning Planet Institute, while private sector partners include AICrowd and mymun.
This year's ideation themes includes:
- Youth and WSIS Beyond 2025: Envisioning the Future of the Information Society through Model UN events
- Querying UN Archives to Enhance the Quality of MUN Debates
- Connecting the MUN Community to its Alumni through Social Media
- Improving Hybrid & Online MUN Events with advances in Information Technology
- Linking the MUN Youth Community with Experiential Learning Opportunities like the SDG Olympiad and MOODs
- Exploring the MUN Community’s Vision for the Future of AI in Education
- Using Open Data from the United Nations and National Statistical Offices to Enhance MUN Debates
