Title Governmental CIRT Establishment in Cyprus
Description

The main goal of the project is to assist the government of Cyprus to establish its Governmental CIRT (Computer Incident Response Team) to serve as a trusted, central coordination point of contact for cybersecurity; aimed at identifying, defending, responding and managing cyber threats.

ITU will assist the government of Cyprus in building and deploying the technical capabilities and related trainings necessary to establish its Governmental CIRT. Thus it is expected to lead to development of national cybersecurity capacity while moving forward on enhancing regional and international collaboration.

Achievements The project assisted Cyprus in establishing its governmental Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) to serve as a trusted central coordination point of contact for cybersecurity, aimed at identifying, defending, responding and managing cyber threats.
In addition, training and customization services have also been provided to ensure good functioning of the CIRT. The project improved overall capacity of the beneficiary country against cyber-threats.
