Description |
The main objective of this Project is to promote ICT capacity development activities (digital and soft skills) in benefit of youth from local communities in line with the needs of the ICT labor market/ecosystem, and support countries with the development of national strategies to develop young people’s digital skills and build an enabling environment for innovation and entrepreneurship. As a pilot, the Project will be implemented in Bolivia, Argentina and Paraguay. The project will support the implementation of the Americas Regional Initiatives (AMS RIs) #4 and #5. One of the expected results of AMS RI#4 is to facilitate an enabling environment to ensure that everyone enjoys the full benefit of telecommunication/ICT access and use, through the implementation of local/national ICT projects to eliminate disparities in education at all levels and professional training. AMS RI#5 aims at assisting countries developing national and regional policies to boost the digital economy by promoting discussions on the topic. The project will also develop recommendations for the creation of innovation centers and educational projects that contribute to the ICT labor market/ecosystem and young entrepreneurship. |

Achievements |
This project is expected to deliver the following achievements: 1.Enhanced digital skills for youth in the areas such as computational thinking, coding, programming, robotics and any other ICT-related content that may respond to the demand of local/national ICT companies and industries. 2.Enhanced soft skills for youth in the areas such as negotiation, speech, leadership, and entrepreneurship which may respond to the demand of local/national ICT companies and industries. 3.Member states supported through the development of country analysis report on national strategies for young people`s skills, innovation, and digital entrepreneurship (the ecosystem for youth digital entrepreneurship). 4.Enhanced awareness on ICT study fields and career opportunities, as well as on the importance of digital skills for employment. 5.Discussion on challenges and opportunities of the digital economy strengthened, especially for young digital entrepreneurship. 6.Project impact assessed with basis on the analysis of collected data. |
