Summary:
|
Driver distraction detection is an important component of vehicle safety assistance systems. It serves to mitigate safety risks arising from driver distraction and thereby significantly reduce the incidence of major accidents. Consequently, the realization of mature driver distraction detection applications has drawn significant attention.
Driver distraction includes many forms, including visual distraction and behaviour distraction. However, the current standards mainly address behaviour distraction types. Furthermore, as the scope of observable behaviour does not fully correspond to the spectrum of distraction states, specific standardization of distraction behaviour is often absent.
This Proposal aims to establish a new standard entitled "Framework requirements and evaluation methods for driver distraction detection system". By integrating advanced in-vehicle sensing technologies and artificial intelligence-based methodologies, this proposal addresses existing gaps. It defines a system framework for driver distraction detection, specifies technical requirements, establishes evaluation methodologies, and documents representative use cases, thereby enhancing system compatibility and accuracy. Primary stakeholders comprise intelligent cockpit system developers.
