Summary:
|
Expressway traffic safety is typically enhanced and improved through activities in five key areas: roads, vehicles, road users, post-crash response, and road safety management. The expressway traffic safety assessment (ETSA) aims to monitor, identify, analyze, and evaluate the risks and performance associated with these safety-related activities, thereby ultimately improving the management capabilities. Considering the complexity of traffic safety related factors, it makes sense to use key performance indicators (KPIs) for evaluation. Information communication technologies (ICT) can play an important role in the process of ETSA.This Recommendation provides a set of KPIs related to the application of ICT in the context of ETSA.
