Summary: This technical paper proposes to study the implications and further considerations of Security Architecture in the light of what are the current and future strategic requirements (e.g. need for an Integrated Cyber Defence, need for a stack simplification, etc.) for security in the light of the current and future problems. It will cover a significant amount of research on a gap analysis in this area starting by the work done in the X.800 series and will take the opportunity to assess if X.800 (and other architecture and frameworks) are still valid or if there is a need for something new. It will then step through common current and future security architecture patterns that could potentially lead to new normative work. This proposition is part of a bigger program to review the architectural foundation for SG17. In this particular technical paper, we propose to look at the implications and further considerations of Security Architecture Patterns as per the below. This will not consider optimization, harmonisation, etc. aspects which will be covered by a separate proposition
