  ITU-T A.5 justification information for referenced document 3GPP TS 29.244 V19.2.0 (2025) in draft Y.3166
1. Clear description of the referenced document:
Name: 3GPP TS 29.244 V19.2.0 (2025)
Title: Interface between the Control Plane and the User Plane Nodes; Stage 3 (Release 19).
2. Status of approval:
Approved
3. Justification for the specific reference:
Refer to the 3GPP specification TS 29.244 to describe the existing network capabilities and resources provisioning procedures, in particular how the control plane provisions forwarding rules, quality of service (QoS), traffic steering, and session handling in the user plane function (UPF), which are required not to be affected by the UE-to-UE session signalling procedures. The requirement for the support the mutual independence and coordination of the UE-to-UE session procedures and the network capability and resource provisioning procedures [3GPP TS 29.244] is also covered in Y.U2USM-req-fra.
4. Current information, if any, about IPR issues:
None.
5. Other useful information describing the "Quality" of the document:
3GPP TS 29.244 V19.2.0 is published by 3GPP in June 2025.
6. The degree of stability or maturity of the document:
3GPP TS 29.244 V19.2.0 is published by 3GPP in June 2025.
7. Relationship with other existing or emerging documents:
