Система установления связи между аудиовизуальными терминалами с использованием цифровых каналов со скоростью до 2 Мбит/с

Видеотелефония, видеоконференции и другие речевые мультимедийные услуги в сетях с фиксированной битовой скоростью (таких как ЦСИС) зависят от мультиплексной структуры, описанной в Рекомендации МСЭ-T H.221. Канал управления в рамках этой мультиплексной структуры соответствует местоположению так называемого сигнала скорости битов (BAS) в каждом кадре. В данной Рекомендации описаны все процедуры "от точки к точке", использующие коды BAS: начальный обмен параметрами и режим инициализации, включая функционирование сети в ограниченном режиме; внутрисеансовая коммутация режимов, включая изменения аудиовизуального режима и активацию каналов передачи данных; прочие процедуры, в том числе одноканальное и многоканальное межсоединение, шифрование, индикация предпочтительного режима, передача сетевых адресов и использование кодов расширения BAS. В данной пересмотренной версии Рекомендации МСЭ-Т H.242 содержится ряд уточнений и разъяснений к предыдущей версии, главным образом описание применения G.719 и Приложения C к Рекомендации МСЭ-Т G.722.1 (аудио 14 кГц ) в системах H.320.
