التوصية ITU-T H.552 تحدد المتطلبات الأساسية لتنفيذ الأنظمة المتعددة الوسائط في المركبات (VMS)، وتتناول أربعة من جوانبها الرئيسية:
-التوصيلية، توفير المراجع القياسية الأساسية ومتطلبات الأداء المحدَّدة لبيئة المركبات؛
-الواجهة البينية بين الإنسان والآلة، التعامل مع متطلبات المساعد الصوتي (VA) والتفاعل السَّمعي؛
-نسق الوسائط والتحكم بها، توفير المراجع القياسية للأنواع المختلفة من الوسائط الخاصة بالأنظمة المتعددة الوسائط في المركبات؛
-مساعد المعلومات والترفيه للهواتف الذكية، مع المتطلبات المتعلقة بمعمارية الواجهة البينية بين الهواتف الذكية والأنظمة المتعددة الوسائط في المركبات، وكذلك متطلبات الأداء لتوفير مستوى عادل من تجربة المستعملين.
وهناك تذييلان يتضمنان إرشادات بشأن تنفيذ الأنظمة المتعددة الوسائط في المركبات:
-معيار أداء التردد الراديوي للشبكة المحلية اللاسلكية (WLAN) وسيناريوهات اختبار أداء المستعملين للشبكة المحلية اللاسلكية (WLAN) وتوصيلية شبكة النفاذ الشخصية اللاسلكية (WPAN)،
-تنفيذ الواجهة البينية التشخيصية لتوليف وظائف المساعد الصوتي.
