g4g in the classroom@Dresden 2016

On April 28, 2016, greenlight for girls (g4g) launched g4g in the classroom@Dresden where ten lucky girls had the opportunity to celebrate Girls' Day at TU Dresden! The girls were led by our wonderful Project Manager & nanotechnology enthusiast/PhD grad student, Cate Joie-Bonheur, who inspired them in the world of physics, electronics, and technology in different workshops. The girls had fun discovering how fruit can be a great conductor of electricity by creating fruit batteries, finding out the technology behind how an OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) works, and, finally, teaching the girls about the technology of glow sticks!

Our g4g in the classroom concept stems from making science of everyday life come alive in the classroom! We recognize the need for teachers and volunteers around the world to implement an interactive day of hands-on learning by realizing that science can be combined with everything you see around you.
