Eventos del Día internacional de las Niñas en las TIC 2014

International Girls in ICT Day 2014 was celebrated for the second time in Nepal on 4th Thursday of April (24th April 2014).

The main objective of the event was to empower and encourage girls and women in ICT sector for development. "International Girls in ICT Day" is an opportunity to introduce girls to ICT as a growing career option.

The main event was held in Kathmandu organized by Digital Broadcast Initiative, Equal Access Nepal (EAN) in collaboration with NTA (Nepal Telecommunication's Authority) and supported by ITU. In addition, at local level, 3 days of ICT training was organized in Tikapur and Nepalgunj, each with 20 women participants from marginalized and socially excluded groups.

The event held in Central region was an endeavor to reach to visually impaired girls and women to provide them with knowledge about the rapidly growing ICT sector and highlight the use of ICTs for their lives and future. The  motive of the event was to promote awareness on the use of ICTs for the differently abled persons.

The events in Tikapur,kailali and Nepalgunj,banke were full-phase 3 days training focusing on ICTs, its growing trends, useful ICT resources, careers in ICT, social media, do's and don'ts of social media etc. ​​​​
