本建议书\|国际标准提供了ITU-T T.81建议书\|ISO/IEC 10918-1和ITU-T T.84建议书\|ISO/IEC 10918-3中的JPEG特定应用标记(APPn)的定义。此第二版整合了ITU-T T.86建议书（2012年）\|ISO/IEC 10918-4（2013年）修正1并取消了第一版中最初定义的有关注册机构程序的规定。ITU-T T.86是与ISO/IEC 10918-4共用的文本。
