ISO/IEC 10918-x系列规范确立了连续色调静态图像编码的指导原则和具体要求。ITU-T T.81建议书 | ISO/IEC 10918-1，亦称JPEG，规定了码流的格式和解码过程。此规范主要用于压缩连续色调的照片内容。
