مواصفات سطح بيني لخدمة البيانات عبر الكبل: توصيف السطح البيني للترددات الراديوية باستخدام تقنية تشكيل الاتساع المتعامد (QAM)

يشتمل هذا الملحق على أوصاف 256-QAM للوصلة الهابطة و16-QAM للوصلة الصاعدة في الطبقة المادية. وتمكن وظائف التشكيل هذه شبكات التلفزيون الكبلية من إرسال بيانات برامج عالية السرعة وكذلك رزم بروتوكول الإنترنت. ولكن أبرز تغيير في هذا الملحق المراجع هو تحسين أوصاف طبقة التحكم في النفاذ إلى الوسائط (MAC) من أجل الخدمات الموجهة نحو جودة الخدمة، مثل نقل الصوت والفيديو بواسطة بروتوكول الإنترنت. ويشمل التحسين توسيع نسق إطار MAC، وتوسيع وظيفة التحكم في جودة الخدمة، وإلغاء رأسية الحمولة النافعة، وتوسيع البث المتعدد.
