الوسائط من نقطة إلى نقطة عبر أجهزة ترجمة عناوين الشبكات وجدران الحماية ضمن أنظمة ITU(T H.323

تمكن التوصية ITU-T H.460.24 أي حارس بوابة ITU-T H.323 من صياغة قرار للسماح بالتدفقات المباشرة للوسائط بين نقطتين طرفيتين ITU-T H.323 تقعان خلف أجهزة مترجم عنوان الشبكة (NAT)/جدار الحماية (FW). ويستعمل هذا التمديد بالاقتران مع التوصية ITU-T H.460.18 لتسهيل نفاذ الوسائط عبر الأجهزة FW/NAT والتوصية ITU-T H.460.23 لاكتشاف خصائص الأجهزة FW/NAT الكائنة أمام النقاط الطرفية ITU-T H.323، مما يخفض من وتيرة الحاجة إلى أجهزة وكلاء الوسائط (على النحو الموضح في التوصية ITU-T H.460.19) بإتاحة توصيلية مباشرة للوسائط بين النقاط الطرفية. وتتحقق التوصيلة من خلال صياغة قرار ذكي بإرسال الوسائط وتشوير للنداء يكلف النقاط الطرفية باستهلال تدفقات وسائط بطريقة تسمح بإنشاء مسارات مباشرة موثوقة للوسائط، حتى إن كانت نقطة طرفية أو النقطتان تقعان خلف جهاز FW/NAT.
