Summary:
|
The current set-top box audio-video interfaces include HDMI and Analog AV (Audio and Video), each with different functionalities.
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a digital interface that provides high-quality video and audio signals through a single cable. It supports various resolutions, including 1080p and 4K, and can transmit both uncompressed video and multi-channel audio.
RCA (Radio Corporation of America) is an analog interface that uses separate cables for video and audio signals. The yellow cable carries the video signal, while the red and white cables carry the left and right audio channels, respectively. Although RCA is an older technology and has lower resolution than HDMI, it still works well for standard-definition video and stereo audio.
Mini AV connector is use 3.5mm connector replace with RCA connector in cable set-top box to save PCB size and get compact box design.
This Recommendation specifies requirements and function of Audio and Video interface on cable set-top for 4K ultra high-definition television.
