Summary:
|
At present, with the rapid development of information technology, computing is becoming more and more popular and has large applications around the world. Especially under the development of the digital economy, computing has become the most important information infrastructure. According to IDC data, the global data production in 2022 was 81 ZB, with an average growth rate of 25% over the past five years. Additionally, according to white paper titled “Computing power Development Index of China”, the total scale of global computing power reached 906 EFlops, with a growth rate of 47% in 2022. It is expected that the global computing power will grow at a rate of over 50% in the next five years and the total scale of global computing power will exceed 3 ZFlops by 2023, and it will exceed 20 ZFlops by 2030.
With this rapid development of Computing power, it’s energy consumption will grow accordingly. In this regard, defining the matrix of Computing power efficiency as well as measurement methodology are vital to evaluate it’s efficiency so as to promote application of energy saving solutions to achieve Net Zero targets.
