Summary: With the widespread deployment of edge computing cloud infrastructures and development of new emerging edge applications such as AR/VR, cloud gaming, 4K/8K ultra high-definition video, etc., in IMT-2020 networks and beyond, the data flow of users and connection of devices dramatically increase, which brings a great challenge to the communication and processing performance of edge computing networking functions implemented by software, leading to the performance bottlenecks of edge applications. The network accelerating technology is introduced to further improve the edge computing network latency and bandwidth. The network accelerating technology including software and hardware enabling technologies is used to accelerating the data plane and control plane by SDN-enabled architecture to enhance the edge computing network performance and satisfy the QoS requirements of edge applications. This recommendation aims to specify network accelerating for edge computing to enhance the edge computing network performance in IMT-2020 networks and beyond.
