Summary:
|
This draft revised Recommendation of J.297 intend to add detail description in functional specification part and new function for 4K ultra high definition service. Candidates are description of multiplex method and HDR (High Dynamic Range) function.
For retransmitting the TV content from broadcasting satellite to cable television, transmission capacity of QAM channel may or may not be enough to carry one TLV stream. One TLV stream may need to be carried by plural QAM channels when TLV stream is beyond transmission capacity of one QAM channel. Thus, transmission schemes depends on the combination of TLV and QAM. The current 8.1.3 Multiplex method in J.297 only specifies usage of MMT and TLV. 4K ultra high definition service may not be provided unless detail description. ITU-T J.94 and ITU-T J.288 are referred in this proposed revision of J.297.
HDR specified by ITU-R H.2100 can be adopted to enrich 4K ultra high definition video quality.
