ITU Events in Burkina Faso

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, 15-19 July 2013

Introduction

ITU organized a series of workshops and meetings in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso from 15-19 July 2013.

The events will bring brough together leading specialists in the field, from top policy-makers to engineers, designers, planners, government officials, media, regulators, standards experts and academia representatives.

These events were aimed at raising awareness of the importance and opportunities of using ICT standards to build a green economy with a special focus in the African region and provided information sharing on benchmarking of QoS evaluation of multimedia networks. Furthermore, the events facilitated discussion and progressed the work of SG12 RG-AFR and SG5 RG-AFR.

Event Overview

• 15-16 July 2013 (morning): Workshop on Building a Sustainable Future Through Green ICT Standards
• 16 (afternoon) - 17 July 2013: 4th meeting of the ITU-T Study Group 5 Regional Group for Africa (SG5 RG-AFR)
• 18 July 2013: Workshop on Benchmarking QoS Evaluation of Multimedia Networks
• 19 July 2013: 5th meeting of ITU-T Study Group 12 Regional Group for Africa
