ITU Workshop and Focus Group examine Media Accessibility, 28-29 May 2012

Improving the accessibility of television broadcasts to people with disabilities, particularly as it relates to emergency communications, will be the focus of an ITU Workshop hosted and supported by NHK, Japan Broadcasting Corporation, at the Science & Technology Research Laboratories Headquarters, Tokyo, Japan. The 5th meeting of Focus Group on Audio Visual Accessibility (FG AVA) follows immediately thereafter, and will receive key inputs in the form of the Workshop’s conclusions. World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA-12)

The World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly is held every four years and defines the next period of study for ITU-T. Preparations for WTSA-12 will take place throughout 2012, notably in regional preparatory meetings, the next of which takes place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 14-15 May [More here].
