ICTs: Part of the solution
At the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference
in Copenhagen, ITU will seek to have ICTs recognised as a sector. ITU, in collaboration with over 20 other organisations
is working on a methodology
to estimate the life cycle impact of the ICT sector. Information on this and a live demonstration on the contribution that
ICTs can make in mitigating and adapting to climate change will be presented at an
ISeeT kiosk
at the conference. Also in Copenhagen, ITU in partnership with WIPO will organize a side event, 10 December,
called Effective Use of ICTs and the IP System for Mitigating Climate.
Information note to the press.
