About ITU TELECOM events
ITU TELECOM AFRICA is one of a global portfolio of ITU TELECOM events, held in each of the key regions of the world as a platform for government and industry to exchange ideas, knowledge and progress in technology for the benefit of all. Organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), these events feature a combined exhibition and associated Forum where policy-makers, innovators and leading figures of the industry examine key policy and development issues, discuss strategies for development and chart the future of telecommunication.
ITU's unique position as an inclusive international organization whose membership include government and regulators as well as private sector, enables it to bring together the global communications community for the TELECOM events.
Exhibition
The Exhibition at ITU TELECOM AFRICA 2004 will feature an extensive range of products and services, spanning the reach of the telecommunications industry. The Exhibition will provide an opportunity for leading global as well regional exhibitors to demonstrate products and services and illustrate the kind of solutions available to deploy Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) across the region.

Forum
The Forum will bring together government and industry leaders and key opinion makers to address the wealth of opportunities and examine the challenges of Africa's telecommunications industry, as well as looking to shape its telecommunications landscape of tomorrow. The ITU TELECOM AFRICA 2004 Forum will be host to
155 speakers from 38 countries (inc. Youth Forum). A total of 1'111 participants
drawn from across the spectrum of the ICT industry took part.
