Software defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV)-based central office service, equipped with SDN and NFV technologies, earns the capabilities of developing diverse internet access services much easier and faster. The running status of the resources and interactions in central office services are required to be monitored to ensure stability, reliability, and availability. Therefore, this Recommendation specifies monitoring parameters for SDN and NFV-based central office service, which are classified into monitoring parameters of Si interface, monitoring parameters of the SDN-based virtual broadband remote access server (vBRAS), monitoring parameters of the SDN-based virtual customer premise equipment (vCPE), monitoring parameters of the SDN-based virtual optical line terminal (vOLT), and monitoring parameters of the interactions between physical and virtual resources.
