The ceremony of Girl In ICT 2015 was held in conjunction with Kartini Next Generation Award (KNG Award).

The Kartini Next Generation Award is a competition arena for creativity and capabilities of women throughout Indonesia in utilizing ICT for education, empowerment and improving living standards, either for personal benefit or the communities, especially for women who are going to change their life for a better condition. This year this event was held in collaboration with the commemoration of Girls in ICT initiated by ITU. KNG Award has been held since 2012 and for the 4th time in 2015 was held under the theme Woman as a Driver of Progress with the intention of giving awards for Indonesian women as drivers of progress in various fields. The award were given to those women who are able to make a positive impact by utilizing ICT to motivate young generations of Indonesia, in particular girls and young women at lower levels.

On 22 April 2015 we had selected 6 winners of KNG 2015 as a Driver of Progress in Economy, Education, Health, Social and Culture, Research on Fishery, and Woman Empowerment.

The award was given by Minister of Communication and Information Technology and Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection to all winners.

From this event we hope Girls and woman in Indonesia will inspired to increase their patient to achieve their goal such as the winners of Kartini Next Generation Award.
