The 2026 World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum takes place midway through implementation of the Global Digital Compact (GDC). As discussions on the modalities and scope of future GDC review processes begin, there is a timely opportunity for the UN system to shape its contribution.

The Working Group on Digital Technologies (WGDT) coordinates UN system-wide implementation of the GDC and is uniquely positioned to support the GDC review; including its focus, value-add, and linkages with existing processes such as WSIS follow-up.

This first in-person meeting of the WGDT provides a dedicated space to brainstorm key elements of the GDC review, drawing on initial implementation experience and lessons learned from the first phase of delivery.
