Supporting the Generation of Technology Creators
Habitat Association
Session 240
Habitat Association believes in the importance of contributing to sustainable development through the establishment of multi-sectoral partnerships. To ensure the equality of access to information and to spread the equality of opportunity in education; Habitat brings together the institutions from different sectors.
Providing technology usage by all segments of society to reduce inequalities is an important key to contribute to sustainable development. To ensure this purpose; Habitat Association is working closely with strong private sector partners: such as QNB Finansbank and Vodafone Turkey.
For creating sustainable change and value; Habitat Association and its stakeholders give full efforts. With QNB Finansbank, Habitat Association runs the project Minik Eller Kod yazıyor (Tiny Hands are Coding). The Project aims to develop children’s creativity and computer skills, introduce them to programming, and spread the awareness of code literacy. With the training, children aim not only to develop their coding skills but to develop their skills in art, painting, music, and storytelling through their imagination and creativity. Within the scope of the project, students between the ages of 8-12 are given CodyRoby activities from 2 hours algorithm instructional activities through volunteer trainers, and Scratch 3.0 training curriculum which includes coding training for 6 hours.
Within the session; the participants will benefit from the experiences of multisectoral partnerships for social good, dissemination and implementation methods, creating Scratch curriculum for kids’ creativity, motivating volunteers to create social good and providing technology creator generation.
