Ten-year review of World Summit on the Information Society actions by
WSIS+10 High-Level Event in Geneva, 10-13

2014 – The
ten-year review of the implementation of the outcomes of the World Summit on the
Information Society will be the focus of the WSIS+10 High-Level Event in Geneva,
10-13 June 2014. Policy-makers, including Government Ministers and leaders from
civil society, academia, business, and international organizations will address
the progress made in the implementation of the outcomes of the World Summit on
the Information Society (WSIS), held in Geneva in 2003 and in Tunis in 2005.

Why:

WSIS+10 High-Level Event will review progress in
the implementation of the WSIS outcomes under
the mandates of participating agencies, and to
take stock of achievements in the last 10 years.
It will also
review the
WSIS Outcomes
(2003 and 2005), in particular related to the
Action Lines
with a view to developing proposals on a new
vision beyond 2015, and potentially also
exploring new targets in the following outcome
documents:

Outcomes
·
WSIS+10 Vision for WSIS Beyond 2015 under the
mandates of participating agencies

Who:

Co-organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNCTAD and UNDP,
with engagement of FAO, ILO, ITC, UNDESA, UNEP,
UNODC, UPU, UN Women, WMO, WHO, WFP, WIPO, UN
Regional Commissions.
The WSIS+10 meeting is expected to attract
high-level policy-makers, including
