around the hot topics challenging today’s ICT regulators. It will be chaired by
Dr Mohammed Al Amer, Chairman of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority
(TRA) of Bahrain.

methods for monitoring the implementation of national broadband
plans.
The first
two days of the symposium comprise the Global Regulators-Industry Dialogue
(GRID, 3-4 June), and are open to regulators, policy makers and members of ITU’s
Development Sector. The third day (5 June) is a closed session open to
regulators and policy makers only. The morning session on Tuesday 3 June is open
to media, culminating in a press conference at the end of the morning’s
programme. A number of interesting pre-event sessions on 2 June are also
