Webinar launch: Trends in Telecommunication Reform report

Chat to ITU regulatory experts about the trends shaping global ICT sector

Geneva, 11 April, 2013 – ITU’s flagship regulatory report, Trends in Telecommunication Reform, provides a comprehensive annual global snapshot of the fast-evolving ICT regulatory environment.

This year, ITU is hosting a global online interactive launch of the latest Trends report, with a view to engaging with journalists and analysts around the world with an interest in ICT regulation.

The 13th edition of Trends focuses on the ‘Transnational Aspects of Regulation in a Networked Society’. As networks and services increasingly go ‘cross-border’, ICT policy-makers and regulators find themselves operating in a global context, where their decisions affect ICT service delivery in other countries, and where they themselves are impacted by policies adopted by countries nearby – or even outside their own region.

Regulators can no longer legislate in a ‘domestic vacuum’ – but what new frameworks are needed to ensure all countries benefit equally from the continued strong growth in the tech sector?
