This domain-specific dataset includes multilingual translations of construction and shipbuilding
industry terminology. Twenty-two languages are covered. The original term, which includes
dialects, slang, or idiomatic usage, are taken from the Glossary of National Construction
Standards, a publicly available dataset published by South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure
and Transport (MOLIT), which defines standard construction terms used nationwide as well as
the on-site interviews of workers. The translated term has been carefully reviewed with on-site
workers and construction site managers to ensure relevant context is reflected.
The app features Speech-to-Text (STT) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) functions for accurate voice
recognition in high-noise environments. Real-world tests using 1.05 million data samples
confirmed over 90% translation accuracy and high user satisfaction. Users can also save
frequently used technical terms for quick access, enhancing efficiency.
By minimizing translation errors, Safety Talk reduces safety risks and prevents industrial
accidents. Additionally, it improves efficiency by ensuring clear work instructions, addressing
the skilled labour shortage, and supporting aging workforces. As an AI-driven solution, Safety
Talk is set to revolutionize communication, improve safety, and enhance productivity across
construction sites worldwide.

• Crowdworks AI collaborated with a major South Korean construction firm (Company S)
to co-develop an AI translation app tailored for the construction industry.
• Crowdworks AI’ Role: To support the development of an AI translation app specialized
in the construction domain, Crowdworks AI was responsible for building a construction-
specific terminology dataset, designing metadata, optimizing the model through prompt
engineering, fine-tuning, and conducting on-site tests in over 20 languages.
