2. Project introduction and
selection process
21 AI use cases
211 Use case selection
Within the deadline for the call for use cases, we received 234 submissions from 32 countries.
For evaluation of the use cases, a set of criteria was established encompassing clarity and
completeness, justification, alignment with AI for Good objectives, and evaluation against
specific metrics, each with an assigned percentage. Considering our timeline constraints, we
decided to release an interim collection of use cases in July 2025, featuring an initial 160 use
cases. Subsequently, we will continue the engagement with use case authors and scholars to
enhance and refine the collection, with the final version scheduled for release in September
2025.
212 Geographical distribution
The 160 use cases came from 28 countries of six regions, including Australia, Canada, China,
Cyprus, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, India, Iraq, Italy, Korea, Lebanon, Luxembourg,
Malaysia, Nigeria, Palestine, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda,
United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Zambia, and Zimbabwe
This geographical diversity underscores the global momentum behind AI adoption. Asia and
Pacific region lead the charge, powered by established tech giants and rapidly rising innovation
hubs across developing countries. Africa’s strong representation reflects its successful embrace
of digital technologies, demonstrating how AI can help leapfrog traditional development
pathways and accelerate digital transformation. In Arab state region, active participation
highlights strategic investments in AI as part of broader efforts to modernize economies
and reduce reliance on natural resources. Europe and CIS region contributes through
well-developed AI ecosystems that integrate cutting-edge research with robust regulatory
frameworks, while Americas remains a driving force in foundational innovation and large-scale
enterprise applications.
We extended invitations to 45 authors to join us at the Summit and showcase their work.
