AI for Good Innovate for Impact
The initiative provides an educational tool and a stepping stone to more significant equity
and opportunity for children with autism by thoughtfully utilizing the transformative power of
artificial intelligence with culturally rich content.
23 Future Work
Our path forward will focus on developing a much stronger, expandable framework to enhance
the technological capabilities and worldwide reach of this AI-powered learning platform for
children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The strategic direction encompasses several key
areas:
• More Robust Data Collection
A sophisticated system will gather behavioural, cognitive, and emotional information
from children's interactions with the platform, feedback from parents and teachers,
and potentially from wearable devices. This approach will be implemented with strict
attention to privacy regulations like India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP)
2023 amongst others, for local and GDPR abroad, creating a valuable foundation for
refining the AI models and personalising each child's learning experience.
• Extensive Real-World Testing
In partnership with autism centres, schools, and clinical specialists, an extensive pilot
program will test the platform in everyday settings. This critical phase will allow continuous
improvements based on feedback from diverse users and performance measurements.
The insights gained will help validate the approach's effectiveness and scalability.
• Advancements in AI Capabilities
The next product development stage will incorporate cutting-edge machine learning
techniques, including reinforcement learning to create more responsive reward systems,
neural networks to anticipate behavioral patterns, and natural language processing to
analyze engagement levels. Regular updates based on incoming data will ensure the
platform remains responsive and personally relevant to each child.
• Expanding Accessibility
The team will include multiple regional languages and immersive augmented or virtual
reality experiences to broaden the impact. These additions will make the platform more
culturally adaptable and enhance its appeal and usability across different global contexts.
• Setting Industry Standards
A significant goal is to establish benchmarks and best practices for AI-driven special
education. This includes developing open-source tools, detailed implementation guides,
and testing environments to encourage collaborative research and smooth integration
with existing educational systems.
3 Use Case Requirements
• REQ-01: It is critical that the AI-powered content adaptation system is capable of
personalising story-based quests
• REQ-02: It is critical that machine learning algorithms (classification, regression, sequence
modelling) be used for analysing user behaviour and learning patterns.
• REQ-03: It is critical for natural language processing capabilities to adapt to content
complexity
• REQ-04: It is critical that a multi-modal content delivery supports visual (images,
animations), auditory (voice, sounds), and textual elements, adaptable to user needs.
• REQ-05: It is critical that a traditional Indian moral tales content library with educational
significance is added.
