General Chairman's Message

               Deb Kumar Chakrabarti
               Director General
National Telecom Institute for Policy Research, Innovation & Training (NTIPRIT),
Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, India

It is my great honour to welcome you to Kaleidoscope 2024: Innovation and Digital
Transformation for a Sustainable World. This 15th edition of the ITU Kaleidoscope academic
conference comes at a time when technological innovation is driving unprecedented global
change, and we are increasingly aware of the critical role that digital transformation plays in
               achieving sustainable development.
The theme of this year’s conference, focused on innovation and sustainability, highlights the
immense potential of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to address the
pressing environmental, social, and economic challenges facing the world today. Through this
event, we aim to promote collaboration across academia, industry, and research institutions to
develop new insights and solutions for sustainable digital transformation.

Kaleidoscope 2024 will be held from 21 to 23 October 2024 in conjunction with the World
Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA-24), the governing conference for ITU
standardization work. We are fortunate to host the conference alongside this prestigious
assembly, which underscores the significance of standards in driving sustainable digital
               progress.

This year’s conference programme includes 56 original academic papers selected from a total
of 143 submissions. Papers were selected through a rigorous double-blind peer-review process
and highlight cutting-edge research in areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing,
environmental sustainability, and the Internet of Things. These papers will help explore how
international technical standards can support the achievement of the United Nations
               Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The authors of the best papers presented at the conference will share a prize fund of 6000 Swiss
francs. In addition, young authors up to 30 years of age presenting accepted papers will receive
               Young Author Recognition certificates.

I would like to thank the Chair of the Technical Programme Committee, Mostafa Hashem
Sherif, and all reviewers, whether members of the committee or anonymous reviewers, for
assisting the Steering Committee in making the selection. The members of the Steering
Committee were also essential to the preparation of the keynote session and inviting two papers
dealing with the conference’s theme. My special thanks also go to the Host Committee
members, Atul Sinha (NTIPRIT), Pankaj Kumar, Deepika Pokharna, & Monu Gupta (DoT),
