Eventos del Día internacional de las Niñas en las TIC 2016

Clephanie Computer Training Centre Limbe, a Professional IT Institute under King Black Welfare Association Situated at MotherCareBuiling, Mile 1 – Limbe joined the international community to commemorate International Girls in ICT Day 2016 on April 28th 2016 under the Theme: "Expand Horizons, Change Attitudes":

Activities to mark this day included:

• A 1 Hour Live Interactive Radio Talk Show at Eternity Gospel Radio from 10am (Thursday 28th April 2016) to sensitize the public about this day and it's importance.

• Open Day for orientation on ICT related careers for girls at the school premises (Thursday 28th and Friday 29th April 2016)

• One Week Free Training on basic computer software and ICT notions for girls and young women (Monday 2nd to Friday 6th of May 2016)

A Total of 25 girls participated in the Thursday Celebrations and about 8 men as well. The Free Training started off on May 3rd 2016 and will run till Monday 9th May. 16 young girls are currently being taught how to use the computer for their first time. It indeed a remarkable effort to dedicate a Day to propagate ICT awareness for women. The Event on the 28th April 2016 was also covered by a local NewsPaper (The Sun) and a Regional TV Station (HiTV) to create more public awareness about this important day.​
