ITU Regional Office for Africa in collaboration with Africa Union Commission, UNECA, UNDP, UN Women, other UN Agencies and the private sector is preparing to celebrate "Girls in ICT day" which will be held on 24th of April, 2014 in Addis Ababa at the African Union Commission conference center starting at 9:00 a.m.

The objective of the event is to create awareness among girls of the opportunities within the ICT industry. It is hoped that this event will make girls see ICT as a career path and enter into the industry in the future. This we plan to achieve by showcasing the ICT industry and by having professional women in the ICT sector make presentations to these girls and point out relevant statistics to inspire them.
