INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND: Zambia first introduced its National Registration Card (NRC) in 1964. More recently, the card has
evolved to incorporate electronic and biometric features. Zambia became the first country in eastern and southern Africa to imple-
ment digital multipurpose National Registration Cards (NRC) with applications for voting, accessing banking services, and driving
