Summary:
|
Constrained IoT sensor devices in the smart grid are small, resource-limited devices deployed for monitoring, communication, and control of grid infrastructure. They play a critical role in enabling real-time data collection and smart decision-making but face restrictions in power, computation, memory, and communication capacity. Constrained IoT sensor devices, often battery-powered and deployed in diverse, remote, or inaccessible environments, rely heavily on ultra-low power operation to achieve extended battery life and sustainable deployment. Without consistent measurement methodologies, comparing device performance, optimizing designs, and ensuring compliance with energy consumption targets becomes challenging. This Recommendation aims to provide a comprehensive framework for energy consumption metrics and measurement methodology of constrained IoT sensor devices in smart grid.
