Summary: As AI-driven decision systems proliferate in intelligent IoT services, cross-layer AI data trust has become a critical foundation for reliable operation. In these environments, AI models are deployed across heterogeneous distributed layers—including devices, intermediate nodes, and cloud platforms—making it essential to address challenges such as data inconsistency, drift, and contextual misalignment. This draft Recommendation introduces a conceptual framework for cross-layer AI data trust in distributed IoT systems. The framework defines the need, guiding principles, and layered structure for coordinating AI data trust across heterogeneous computing environments, and demonstrates its relevance through representative use cases. By providing this conceptual foundation, the draft Recommendation supports future standardization efforts to enable resilient, reliable, and interoperable intelligent IoT services built on trusted AI data.
